Armie Hammer Says he’s Selling his Truck Because he Can’t Afford the Gas
Armie Hammer released a video on Instagram on Tuesday announcing his decision to start a new life in Los Angeles. He explains that he needs to sell his vehicle since he can no longer afford petrol.
“I’ve been back in L.A. for a couple of weeks now,” Hammer says in the film, which was shot in a California CarMax shop. “Here’s my truck. I got this vehicle for myself as a Christmas gift in 2017.
Armie Hammer Reflects on Life Changes and Financial Challenges
I’ve owned pickup trucks for a long time and liked it. I’ve taken it camping, across country, and on long road trips. Since returning to Los Angeles, I’ve spent maybe $400 or $500 on petrol, which I can’t afford.”
Armie Hammer relocated to the Cayman Islands and worked as a timeshare marketer after facing sexual abuse charges in Hollywood in 2021. As a result of the allegations, which included rape, cannibalism fantasies, and coercing partners into BDSM situations, the “Social Network” and “Call Me by Your Name” actor was fired from multiple projects, dismissed by his publicist and agent, and became the focus of an LAPD investigation.
Ultimately, no criminal charges were filed against Armie Hammer, who rejected the allegations and claimed that all interactions were consensual.
Hammer has recently returned to the media spotlight, including appearances on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, Tom Arnold’s “Painful Lessons” show, and “Piers Morgan Uncensored.” He has denied all allegations of sexual assault despite admitting to “shitty behaviour” such as cheating on his wife and “[using] people to make me feel better.”
Armie Hammer claimed that being “cancelled” and exiled from the entertainment world was “liberating,” but he has also declared that he developed a script on his life and hopes to return to filmmaking.
“Here’s to new beginnings,” Hammer remarked in a video posted on Tuesday. “It is my birthday tomorrow. So on August 28, I’ll be celebrating my birthday in a new car, a new flat and a new life in Los Angeles.”
He recalled several experiences related with the truck, including driving his newborn children home from the hospital. “Thank you very much,” he replied, striking the steering wheel. “You’ve gotten me a long way, and I appreciate everything. I hope you will take as good care of the next person.”
Armie Hammer stated that he has already purchased a new automobile, a “tiny” hybrid that will likely require only “10 bucks of petrol in it per month.” “I just keep telling myself that parking is going to be easier and petrol is going to be cheaper,” he told me.
