Actor Jonathan Majors’ Domestic Violence Trial Scheduled For Aug. 3

NEW YORK — A Manhattan judge announced Tuesday that actor Jonathan Majors’ domestic abuse case would go to trial on August 3. This will place him in a real-life courtroom drama as the actor’s dormant Hollywood career hangs in the balance.

During an altercation in March in New York City, Majors’ accuser claims that he pulled her finger, twisted her arm behind her back, punched and cut her ear and shoved her into a car, forcing her to tumble backward. According to authorities, the woman had minor head and neck injuries treated in a hospital.

The female accuser attacked Majors, not the other way around, according to video footage that Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, said she gave authorities on Tuesday. The woman’s name is not listed in the court documents.

Majors was a quickly rising Hollywood star who has starred in recent blockbusters, including “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” However, the U.S. Army removed TV advertisements featuring Majors after his arrest, claiming it was “deeply concerned” by the claims. The planned Marvel movie “Avengers: Kang Dynasty” starring Majors was pushed back by Disney last month from May 2025 to May 2026. Additionally, he will appear in “Avengers: Secret Wars” in 2027.

Judge Rachel Pauley gave The actor “best of luck” as she set his trial date. “Yes, ma’am,” Majors replied as he and his attorneys approached Pauley’s bench in the Manhattan domestic violence court.

Majors, 33, is accused of misdemeanor offenses, including assault, and if found guilty, may receive a term of up to a year in jail.

His appearance in court for the first time since shortly after his arrest on March 25 in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood was on Tuesday. He participated in a hearing last month via video, where the prosecution stated that they were changing the assault allegation to consider the accuser’s perspective. The original version was based on a police officer’s account.

A Manhattan judge announced Tuesday that actor Jonathan Majors’ domestic abuse case would go to trial on August 3.

Before his case was called on Tuesday, Majors watched from the courtroom gallery with his attorneys and his girlfriend Meagan Good, who plays the title character in the “Shazam!” movies, as two men in unrelated instances had their domestic violence charges dismissed.

To charge Majors’ 30-year-old accuser instead of doing the same for Majors, Chaudhry asked the Manhattan district attorney’s office “hold her accountable for her crimes.” Chaudhry requested that the Majors case be tried as soon as feasible instead of a decision.

Chaudhry has given the prosecution “compelling evidence” of Majors’ innocence, including a video of the actress beating the actor and Majors eluding her.

The clothes Majors was wearing were torn due to the woman’s aggressive conduct, Chaudhry added. “We also provided photographs illustrating the injuries she inflicted on Mr. Majors and photos of his clothing torn as a direct consequence of (the woman’s) violent actions,” he added.

She has also charged Black Majors with being the victim of racial discrimination by police and prosecutors. She claimed that when Majors attempted to display the injuries to the officer he claimed the woman had caused, a white police officer got in his face and mocked him.

Before setting a date for Majors’ trial, the judge made a decision that was kept secret, which Chaudhry withdrew from the court papers she had submitted to contest the case. Pauley did not disclose any specifics in open court but instead gave copies of her decision to Majors’ solicitors and the prosecution.

A Manhattan judge announced Tuesday that actor Jonathan Majors’ domestic abuse case would go to trial on August 3.

Majors brought his own Bible and a poetry journal into court. Majors portrays the villain Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel movies. He occasionally smiled, but besides his brief three-minute conversation with the judge, he was silent.

Majors are still required to follow the terms of the protective order preventing him from speaking to his accuser. If he failed to appear for his trial date, the court threatened to issue a warrant for his arrest.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard and her boyfriend, Ken Urker, are preparing for the birth of their first child. Gipsy Rose stated, “We’re going to accomplish this together. Blanchard, who revealed her pregnancy on YouTube this week.

“He’s going to have to stay at my parents’ house for a couple of days and vice versa,” Blanchard said of Urker. “But I can’t move in with him or buy a house until I come off parole. So we’ll have to work around the schedule.”

Blanchard was released from prison on parole in December 2023 — she was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the murder of her mother, Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, who allegedly mistreated her throughout her childhood — and has been living in her father, Rod’s and stepmother Kristy’s home in Louisiana.

Gypsy Rose’s parole expires in 11 months, after which she and Urker intend to move into their new home.

Gypsy Rose is due in January 2025, which means she and Urker will have to commute between their parent’s homes for the first six months of their baby’s life.

Until then, Gypsy Gipsy is focussing on her own and her baby’s health. (She discovered the sex through a blood test but has yet to share the information publicly.)

“I’m making sure I’m taking my prenatal vitamins, and with the mood swings and the symptoms, I just haven’t even had any extra time to even communicate with anyone,” Gypsy told reporters.

“I’ve been quite busy. It was equally difficult to maintain silence about this. I wanted to reveal it on my terms and in a specific manner, but keeping this secret for so long was concerning.

I didn’t want it leaked. It would have taken away the excitement of disclosing it to my friends, family, and, eventually, the public.”

She continued, “I believe every parent wonders if they are ready. I am currently in therapy for my sanity and mental well-being, and I have ticked all of the boxes to ensure that I am stable. All I can say is that I have a solid support system, and Ken and I are doing quite well.”

Gypsy Rose earlier told Us Weekly that she hoped to become a mother when the time was right.

“I think that I’m going to be a good mother,” she told Us exclusively in May. “I think Ken would be a wonderful father, and so we’ll see what the future holds for us.”
