Trump Will Hold Outdoor Las Vegas Rally In Scorching Heat. His Campaign Has Extra Medics And Water
LAS VEGAS — Former President Donald Trump’s campaign is hiring extra medics, stockpiling fans and water bottles, and allowing supporters to bring umbrellas to an outdoor rally in Las Vegas on Sunday, when temperatures are anticipated to reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.8 degrees Celsius).
Trump is going to Nevada, a key battleground state in the November election, for his second rally since being found guilty in a hush-money controversy. The extraordinary conviction of a former president has boosted Trump’s fundraising and electrified his followers, but it is still being determined whether it will convince swing voters.

Temperatures in the Southwest have decreased since reaching historic highs late last week, but they remain above typical for this time of year and are forecast to reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius) by the time Trump begins speaking at noon. His gathering is held in a place with limited shade near the airport.
According to campaign organizers, plenty of water bottles will be distributed to attendees, as well as cooling tents located throughout the arena. Misting fans will also be handed out.

The campaign has funded additional EMS services to be on site in the event of an emergency. The United States Secret Service will make an exception and allow visitors to bring their own water bottles and umbrellas.
The Phoenix Police Department reported that 11 persons were carried to hospitals, treated, and discharged from a Trump event in Arizona on Thursday due to heat exhaustion. Many Trump fans waited in line for hours, and some could not enter the facility before it reached full. That day, the temperature hit a record high of 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees Celsius).
Trump’s Nevada event, his third in the state this year, follows a Western swing that includes numerous high-dollar fundraisers projected to generate millions.

Democrat Hillary Clinton won Nevada in 2016, as did President Joe Biden in 2020, but Nevada was the only battleground state where Trump outperformed Biden against Clinton. Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak, a Democrat, was the only incumbent governor who lost his reelection bid in the 2022 midterm elections.
Trump expects that his popularity among working-class voters and increased enthusiasm from Latinos will propel him to victory in the state.
