YouTube Health Channel Provides Access to Videos on First Aid and Emergency Care
(VORNews) – YouTube Health announced today that it is making step-by-step videos on first aid and emergency care by reliable healthcare organizations the top search results when users are seeking first aid-related content.
Videos in both English and Spanish will be included on the “first aid information shelves” that cover topics such as choking (Heimlich), bleeding, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), seizures, strokes, opiate overdoses, and heart attacks. Additionally, the firm collaborated with the American Heart Association, the Mexican Red Cross, and Mass General Brigham to produce information that would be displayed on the shelves.
The American Heart Association (AHA) has developed a free course on how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which includes a comprehensive and organized learning experience that is intended for persons who do not have any prior medical knowledge.
We are incredibly excited to collaborate with YouTube Health to deliver movies that feature procedures that the Mexican Red Cross has approved. These videos will assist individuals with first aid knowledge at the precise moment when they want medical assistance the most.
We aim to be able to assist in the saving of lives and the prevention of poor first-aid procedures that can be carried out without the appropriate medical understanding.
The national fundraising coordinator for the Mexican Red Cross, Ana Robles Quijano, stated in a statement, “We will continue to work to add more dependable and simple-to-understand health content.”
Youtube Health: The larger Trend
YouTube announced in 2022 that it was expanding its product features to include health-source information panels. These panels are used to mark trustworthy health material that comes from authoritative sources such as educational institutions, public health agencies, hospitals, and government bodies.
AI-enabled Aloud, which dubs films in a variety of languages, and THE-IQ Creator Program, which expands upon the Tackling Health Equity Through Information Quality (THE-IQ) program, which was founded in 2022, were the two initiatives that the business announced for healthcare content producers in the previous year.
To make their information available in Portuguese and Spanish, the firm conducted a test program utilizing Aloud. This initiative was developed in collaboration with The Journal of the American Medical Association, Osmosis from Elsevier, Mass General Brigham, and the Global Health Media Project.
Reviewing translations will be a collaborative effort between the YouTube staff and clinical participants. The IQ-Creator Program is an initiative that provides assistance to healthcare professionals in the United States of America, Brazil, Canada, and the United Kingdom in the process of generating material for underrepresented areas.
