Editorial Standards & Corrections Policy — VOR News
VOR News is committed to accurate, fair, independent, and transparent reporting. As an independent outlet founded in 2022 and known as the Voice of Reason / Voice of the Republic, we prioritize substance over spectacle, clarity over spin, and facts readers can trust. This page outlines how our newsroom operates.
Our Editorial Process
Sourcing
Reporters attribute claims to named sources, official documents, on-record statements, or primary materials whenever possible. Anonymous sourcing is used only when a source’s safety, livelihood, or position requires it; the reason is disclosed in the article. We seek multiple independent sources for significant claims and prioritize primary materials (government records, court filings, official data, peer-reviewed research, etc.).
Editing and Review
All articles are reviewed by an editor before publication. Jeffrey Thomas, a Vancouver-based journalist and editor for VOR News, oversees much of the newsroom’s work with an emphasis on clarity, substance, and stories that affect everyday readers. Fact-checking is built into the process: key details are verified, and updates are issued promptly when new information emerges.
Opinion vs. News
– Straight news reporting is labeled **News**.
– Pieces that offer analysis, commentary, or argument are clearly labeled **Opinion** or **Analysis** (in the category tag and/or a visible label at the top of the article).
We keep these categories distinct so readers can immediately distinguish reporting from viewpoint.
Health, Medical, Legal, Financial & Other YMYL Content
Articles in Health and any medical, legal, or financial guidance are cross-checked against primary sources such as peer-reviewed studies, government health agencies, official data, and other authoritative materials. We do not present unverified claims as fact in these high-stakes categories.
Independence and Conflicts
Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial, political, or personal interests. Sponsored or paid content is never allowed to influence news coverage and is always clearly labeled. Staff avoids real or perceived conflicts of interest; any relevant relationships are disclosed.
Core Values and Journalism Trust Initiative Transparency

Independence— Free from external influence; we report the truth as we see it.
Accountability— We correct errors promptly and remain answerable to readers.
Diversity of Thought— We respect and amplify a range of perspectives.

VOR News follows the guidelines of the Journalism Trust Initiative. Our full transparency report is available via the JTI platform.
Corrections Policy
VOR News corrects errors promptly and transparently.
Minor corrections (typos, small factual errors that do not change the substance of a story) are fixed without a formal note.
Substantive corrections (errors that change the meaning or a key fact) are noted at the bottom of the article with a timestamp, for example:
Readers who spot a possible error are encouraged to contact us at info@vornews.com. We aim to review correction requests within 48 hours (or sooner for time-sensitive matters). Significant updates or clarifications are also noted clearly on the relevant article.
